What is Dynamic allocation
DFP, AdSense and Ad-exchange being owned by Google, it becomes easy for Google to have them interlinked with each other and benefit its users.
AdSense is the default filler for any DFP inventory that you create, and would serve if there are no paid campaigns.
The AdSense/Ad-X dynamic allocation comes into picture when you’re line items setup as Price Priority or Network type. Price Priority and Network line item types compete with AdSense/AdX in real time, and the basis of competition is the Value CPM that is entered in the Price Priority or Network line item.
Dynamic allocation ensures that AdSense/AdX competes with the price mentioned in the Value CPM of your line item, and serves AdSense/AdX if it can beat the Value CPM, else your line item would serve. This gives your line item and AdSense/AdX a competition base, and grows your revenue on the Network (your remnant partner) front and/or AdSense/AdX front.
Types of Dynamic allocation;
1) Inventory level:
You can decide to enabled or disable AdSense for the Ad Unit you wish to show AdSense on. Disabling AdSense on any of your Ad Unit will not allow AdSense ads serve to that particular Ad Unit.
2) Line item level:
You’ll need to reach out to DFP support, asking to enable the Line item dynamic level dynamic allocation. Once they’ve enabled it you’ll have to go and link your AdSense/AdX account in DFP. You can find the option to link it manually under the DFP Admin tab, at the bottom of the screen. You’ll also have to ensure that you disable the Inventory level allocation by going into the Network settings found under DFP Inventory tab.

In less than 2 hours the issue was resolved.
I am not able to link my AdSense to my DFP account as I cannot see a “3rd party services” option available under the admin tab of my DFP account!
Also, where it says: “Adsense Inventory settings” should I check the box “Maximize revenue of unsold and remnant inventory with AdSense” or just leave enabled? I am working with another ad network and if they can’t fill a space based on price (fill rate) I would like to have my Google Ads show up?

Like many of you, I had a DFP account and a separate AdSense account. I needed to be able to link them so I could make revenue from the AdSense ads being delivered by DFP. The articles at Google told me that I needed to contact the “account manager” to enable dynamic allocation. Well I don’t have an account manager, so how do I reach the ever-elusive Google Support people? I ran across this website and emailed Chirag. He replied within an hour and contacted Google Support on my behalf and had the issue resolved within hours. I now have the AdSense account linked to my DFP and am all set. Thanks Chirag.

Thanks for the help Chirag. I have activated, but i still don’t see any ads on my unoccupied DFP Inventory. All invetory placements have activated Default AdSense inventory settings.. Am I doing it right??
You’ve to deactiave/disable AdSense at Ad Unit level, and create AdSense line item in DFP with AfdSense creatives, and just target it to Run of Network.
